Envelope

ENVELOPE (OF A BUILDING) is a term used to describe the exterior walls and roofs which enclose the volume of a building. In live/work renovations the envelope may or may not be required to be altered depending on the Title 24 Energy Conservation status of the existing building. Alterations to a building envelope might include the addition of insulation or replacement of windows. An addition to a building of new space is also an alteration to the envelope.
