Variance

VARIANCE is a permission granted by the planning department for an exception to the normal zoning requirements. Specific "findings" are required for the granting of a variance, such as "unique physical or geographical condition", "hardship", or "privileges enjoyed by owners of similarly zoned property (i.e. precedent)."
